Haliburton Frost Fest and Polar Bear Dip cancelled

Due to extreme cold weather warnings Haliburton Village's Frost Festival has been cancelled for this Saturday.

Thursday afternoon recreation program co-ordinator Andrea Mueller confirmed the municipality of Dysart et al had made the decision out of concern for public safety.

" We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause and look forward to hosting the festival next year" said Mueller in an email.


The Lions Club Polar Bear Challenge (also planned for Saturday) has also been cancelled.

The following events are still taking place:

11 a.m. to 2 p.m. free public skating at the A.J. LaRue Arena

4 to 6 p.m. Lasagna dinner at the Haliburton United Church – take out available.
