On Feb. 19 at approximately 3:36 p.m. officers from the Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the OntarioProvincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a single motorized snow vehicle collision on private property on Lake Kawagama in theTownship of Algonquin Highlands.

Two young children were injuredafter a snowmobile they were on accelerated and collided with a fixedobject. As a result of the collision one child was air-lifted to aToronto area trauma center with life threatening injuries. The otherchild sustained minor injuries.

OPP Technical Collision Investigators are on scene and assisting with the investigation.

The investigation is ongoing and further information will be released as it becomes available.
