A Bancroft man died following a single-vehicle collision east of Highland Grove over the holidays.
Bancroft OPP received a call on Dec. 23 at about 2 p.m. of a car in the ditch along South Baptiste Lake Road near Bowers Point Road. They attended along with the Bancroft fire department and paramedics from Hastings County.
The driver who was alone in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as James Benoit Conlin 62 of Bancroft.
Although investigation is continuing police say it appears the car was eastbound on South Baptiste Lake Road when it left the road on a curve and rolled.
