Bancroft OPP had to track down a Highlands East man following a car accident on Highway 118.
According to police the call came in on Tuesday Oct. 2 that two cars were in a collision in Highlands East. When police arrived on scene they were told one of the drivers had fled into the woods.
With the assistance of the canine unit and emergency response team the police found the man a short time later.
A 33-year-old man from Highlands East was charged with obstructing a peace officer taking a motor vehicle without consent and failing to stop at the scene of an accident. He was released on a promise to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft on Oct. 30.
