Three-car collision sends two to hospital

Two people are in hospital following a collision on county roads 507 and 503 on Monday.


A press release from Haliburton Highlands OPP states that on Oct. 9 just before 6 p.m. a call came in there was a collision at the intersection in Gooderham within the municipality of Highlands East.

A red Honda Civic travelling on 507 made a left-hand turn onto 503 and collided with a eastbound black Mazda. The turning car "drove up the right side" of the eastbound Mazda which in turn caused the Mazda to collide with a black GMC Yukon.

A passenger in the Yukon an 86-year-old was taken to Toronto hospital with serious injuries while the 21-year-old driver of the Mazda was taken to local hospital with serious injuries.

Members of the Central Region Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to assist with the collision investigation.

The investigation is continuing.
