Brian Atkins’ op-ed Other priorities more important than shoreline bylaw in the Feb. 1 issue of the Echo was an excellent commentary on the proposed shoreline bylaw, and our local governments’ continued focus on this issue. All of us want to preserve the natural beauty and environmental health of our slice of heaven. Existing rules, bylaws, and inspection programs help do this. As Mr. Atkins points out, there are many other pressing issues that our local leaders and tax dollars need to be focused on.
