Fireconsumes residence on Tom Bolton Road

Nineteenfirefighters from Minden Hills Haliburton and Algonquin Highlandsfire departments worked in concert to fight a fire that engulfed theyear-round residence on Tom Bolton Road in Minden Hills on TuesdayFeb. 13.

Fortunatelyno one was home at the time of the fire.

MindenHills interim fire chief Mike Bekking said there were no injuries tofirefighters or civilians.

Firston the scene were the Minden Hills firefighters who “found a fullyinvolved structure fire with flames showing throughout the building”at 4 p.m. said Bekking.

Theyrequested mutual aid from Haliburton and Algonquin Highlands firedepartments.

Bekkingsaid firefighters were on the scene for six hours.

Alsoon the scene were Haliburton County paramedics and later the OPP.

Acause has not been determined. The residence is a total loss.
