Echo wins five Ontario newspaper awards

Echo/Times team wins a combined eight awards, and honourable mention

General excellenceHaliburton Echo – 2nd place

Best editorial – Chad Ingram’s “On conversion therapy” about Bill C-6 in the Minden Times – 2nd place

Feature writing, circ. under 9,999 – Sue Tiffin, “Leopoldina Dobrzensky remembered as steward of land and local history,” in the Haliburton Echo – 2nd place

Health and wellness – Sue Tiffin, “Gerontology student bringing joy through robocats,” in the Haliburton Echo  – 3rd place

Heritage – Sue Tiffin, “100 years of Agnew’s General Store having what you need,” in the Haliburton Echo – 2nd place

Humour Columnist of the Year – Steve Galea (Haliburton Echo) – 1st place

Cartoonist of the Year – Kim Wark (Minden Times) – 3rd place

Best Feature Photo – Darren Lum “Backyard igloo provides positive shelter in Carnarvon” in the Minden Times – 2nd place

The Haliburton Echo also received an honourable mention for Welcome to Haliburton County 2021 in the Best Vertical Product category.
