CFUW celebrates centennial with scholarship contest

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Canadian Federation of University Women the Haliburton Highlands chapter is hosting an essay writing competition with two $1000 scholarship prizes.

The contest is open to graduating female students from Haliburton Highlands Secondary School and to full-time female students from Haliburton County Peterborough County or the City of Kawartha Lakes who are attending the Haliburton School of Art + Design.

Essays are to be written on one of three topics: a notable Haliburton County woman; a woman who is making a difference today; or moving women’s rights forward.

The contest is open now and will run until the spring of 2019 with prizes awarded during the chapter’s June meeting.
