Hydro rates are now four times what they were when the Liberal government first came into power and MPP Laurie Scott places some of the blame on the Green Energy Act.
In a press release the Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock provincial representative said the rate of 17.5 cents per kilowatt hour during on-peak hours is unaffordable to many of her constituents.
She asked the minister of energy about the government's subsidies for the solar and wind industry.
