The man who fled a traffic stop in Minden Hills on Tuesday has been charged with several offences.

On Oct. 17 just after 4:30 p.m. police attempted to arrest a 27-year-old man on an unrelated outstanding criminal matter during a stop on South Lake Road near Minden.

Police say a confrontation ensued in which an officer was allegedly assaulted. At that point the man fled on foot.

Police searched for him using the OPP emergency response team and canine unit.

On Thursday Oct. 19 police asked for the public's help in locating the man and on Friday released a statement saying he was in custody pending a bail hearing in Lindsay.

He has been charged with resisting a peace officer five counts of failing to comply with a probation order and possession of marijuana (under 30 grams).
