Two dead two injured following Hwy 118 crash

Two people are dead and two others have been left with life-threatening injuries after a disastrous collision on Highway 118 near Loon Lake on the evening of Saturday July 15.


The collision took place just after 5 p.m. along a stretch of the highway between Trappers Trail and Essonville Line.


According to the Haliburton Highlands OPP the male driver of an eastbound vehicle crossed the centreline colliding with a group of motorcyclists heading west. His Chrysler PT Cruiser struck four of the seven motorcyclists.


Two of the motorcyclists succumbed to their injuries and two more were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.


Police have identified the deceased as George Eliadis 52 and Shari Williams 42 both of Uxbridge.
The driver of the car received minor injuries.
