Emergency responders were kept busy this past weekend as three separate snowmobile accidents occurred in the Haliburton Highlands.

According to the OPP on Friday March 10 officers responded to a collision at Haliburton Forest which involved a snowmobile hitting a tree.

“The driver of the snowmobile lost control of the snowmobile and struck a tree. The driver was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries” a news release issued by the OPP says.

Two separate collisions occurred on March 11 at Haliburton Forest one resulting in serious injuries and the other in non-life-threatening injuries.

“A driver of a snowmobile lost control of the snowmobile he was driving and struck a tree” the release says.

The driver was taken to the hospital and then later airlifted to Toronto. OPP are investigating.

The second incident on Saturday involved a snowmobiler losing control of his vehicle and being thrown from the machine. The driver was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

OPP Const. Tim Negus confirmed that Ornge transported the two drivers from Saturday’s accidents to Toronto.
