Sunday fire causes $100000 in damage

A fire on Sunday devoured a car and part of a home on Redkenn Drive in the Kennisis Lake area.

According to Dysart et al fire chief Miles Maughan 15 firefighters responded to the call on Feb. 14 at 3 p.m. to find the car fully involved and the fire spreading to the building.

The flames burned the outside wall of the house and a window to the loft bedroom.

While firefighters were able to put out the fire $70000 worth of damage was already done to the home and the vehicle was destroyed.

The cause of the fire was “careless use of propane heater” according to the release.
