TheHighlands Christmas Shindig again brought the community together foran evening of celebration in aid of a good cause.
Fuel for Warmthreceived a novelty cheque for $22225 at the end of the event onSaturday Nov. 25 at the Northern Lights Performing Arts Pavilionbut the charity’s treasurer Lorne McNeil says donations keep rolling in.
“Isuspect the total to become at least $23500” he wrote in afollow-up email to the paper.
The production included more than 40performers 31 sponsors 21 contributors 27 volunteers and fivemedia sponsors.
Fuel for Warmth assists residents in paying theirfuel bills through the winter months which are especially difficultin the seasonal economy. More than a quarter of families assisted areseniors 22 per cent include children. In four years of the Shindig$70000 has been raised.
