Several court appearances for accused murderer

The man who has been accused with the first-degree murder of Bowmanville man David Palmer remains in jail with his next court appearance scheduled for Dec. 29.

William Savage was charged with first degree murder on Oct. 26 2016 in connection with the death of Palmer a 47-year-old man whose remains were found in the Haliburton area in May 2015.
From Fenelon Falls Savage was remanded in custody in Lindsay following his arrest and has had several court appearances via video since. His last video appearance was on Dec. 8 with the matter being remanded to Dec. 29 for a speak to appearance according to a representative from the Ministry of the Attorney General.

At the time of the arrest OPP confirmed that Savage and Palmer were known to each other. Palmer was last seen on Oct. 2 2015 outside of Pontypool and his vehicle was found on Oct. 14 near Spruce Lake Trail.
