It’s time for another Haliburton Hoedown! And this one is special. On March 25 from 5 to 9 p.m. the Legion will be decorated in chuck wagon style and the Haliburton Lions Club will be serving up a hearty country dinner including beef on a bun home baked beans and all the trimmings all for only $25 per person.
Lions Club International has been leading the globe in community service for a hundred years and they want to mark their centennial by challenging Lions Clubs across the country to contribute to “Lions for Sight.” The Haliburton and District Lions have challenged themselves to raise $3000 for the project and all proceeds from the dinner and dance will go to purchase new eye cataract surgery at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre.
Lion Linda Heeps promises a night of music and dancing with Gord Kidd & Friends. She expects the hoedown to be a highlight for country fans line dancers and anyone who enjoys a foot-stomping good time.
There will be plenty of chances to take home draw prizes and silent auction items. As usual local businesses and community members have been generous with their donations.
Yee haw! Giddy up and get your tickets at Halco Electronics Minden Haliburton Hearing Services or by calling 705-457-2064. See y’all there!
