The Haliburton Highlands Secondary School varsity A field hockey team are going into theall-provincials next week as Central

Ontario Secondary School Athleticschampionship winners beating North Hastings High School 1-0 in

regulation yesterday at the Thomas A. Stewart Secondary School sportsfield in Peterborough.

Haliburton earned its trip to the final against its arch-rival NHHS Huskies with a 2-0 win against

Crestwood in the semi-finals earlier in the day.

Hawks netminder Sydney Cameron earned shutouts in both games.

A late game decision by the fourth-year goalie helped to preserve the win when she dove out and cut

off a pass and the subsequent shot in close.

The NHHS Huskies of Bancroft also advanced to the OFSAA tournament next week.

They will host the  tournament in Peterborough at the Fleming Sports Field Complex on Brealey Drive.
