A man and a woman were arrested by the OPP on Aug. 21 for possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking following a call of suspicious persons.

According to police fentanyl crystal meth and cocaine were seized as well as a prohibited weapon and two other weapons. A 21-year-old woman from Bancroft was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of a crime. A 19-year-old man from Toronto was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose carrying a concealed weapon obstructing police and breach of recognizance.

Both accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
