Police ask public to help identifydriver in Hwy 118 hit and run

Haliburton Highlands OPP are asking forthe public's help in identifying a driver who failed to remain at thescene of a collision in Algonquin Highlands.

Police responded to the collision onHwy 118 just east of Carnarvon shortly before5:30 p.m. on Sept. 5.

According to an OPP press releaseissued Sept. 6 “a westbound motorcycle was struck by an eastboundcar that crossed the centre line. The motorcyclist was hit in thehand with the mirror of the car. The eastbound car failed to remainat the scene of the collision. The motorcyclist was treated at anarea hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.”

The suspect vehicle is a dark-colouredDodge or Chrysler vehicle with damage to the driver's mirror.
