Now about 40 members strong the orchestra will feature a number of soloists at the upcoming show including Deanna Hawley playing a clarinet concerto Tom Regina performing Chaminade’s flute concertino and Luba Cargill playing a violin piece.

To highlight the solo acts this concert is called Among Friends and will be conducted by Dan Manley.

Houghton a violinist is looking forward to the show in particular a number from a famous Disney film.

“This concert we’re going to be playing one of my favourite pieces I’m so excited about being able to play it” she said. “It’s Night on Bald Mountain and if anyone’s ever seen Fantasia the movie it’s the one where the mountain opens up and there’s all these ghouls and ghosts bouncing around.”

The show will be performed at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $15 per person or $20 for an adult and child under 16.

They can be purchased at Cranberry Cottage in Haliburton Pharmasave in Minden or from any orchestra member.
