The Haliburton Highlands OPP along withmembers of the OPP's crime unit and its forensics team areinvestigating a homicide that took place in Highlands East in theearly morning hours of Saturday July 6.

According to a release from the police58-year-old Robert Ferguson of Highland East has been arrested andcharged with second-degree murder and is scheduled to appear in courtin Lindsay on July 8. OPP say there is no threat to public safety.

The deceased has been identified as29-year-old Dylan Robert Dahlke of Dysart et al. The investigation isongoing and post-mortem examination is scheduled to take place inToronto on July 8.

This marks the second homicide inHaliburton County in three weeks as police continue to investigate ahomicide that took place in Halburton Village on June 18.
