Twenty years ago our son Stephen McCall was burned in a gasoline truck fire. The fire caused tremendous damage and the fire crews fought hard to contain it. The Haliburton Echo did a wonderful job covering the story and kindly followed up in the weeks following the accident and his one-year anniversary. Several churches also sent cards of encouragement to our family. All these kindnesses were a great help in the healing process. We were grateful for the care he first received at the hospital in Haliburton before being airlifted to Hamilton General Hospital. Today Stephen has his own trucking business and is thankful to be alive. I thought you might like a story that ended happily.
