Following a loss to the Lindsay Muskies on Sunday and a win over the Cobourg Cougars Monday night, the Trenton Golden Hawks locked up second place in the East division and will meet the Haliburton County Huskies in round one. Haliburton County won the season series over the Golden Hawks 5-3, but will have to start the on the road, with the three game series begining April 10.
Round one of the playoffs will be a best of three, while the next two rounds will be a best of five with the final round being a best of seven.
The Huskies will have their core players such as goalie Christian Cicigoi, and players Simon Rose, Oliver Tarr, who is the team’s top scorer, Isaac Sooklal and Christian Stevens all returning from being healthy scratches in the last game. Forward, Lucas Marshall’s status for the playoffs remains unclear after suffering an injury earlier in the season.
The schedule for round one will be:
April 10 at 4:30 p.m. in Trenton
April 13 at 7 p.m. in Minden
*April 14 at 7:30 p.m. in Trenton (if necessary)
