Home lottery chooses Silver Beach as grand prize bungalow

The Haliburton Highlands has a place in this year’s Princess Margaret Cancer Centre Home Lottery.
A 1300-square-foot Silver Beach bungalow worth $458874 is one of seven grand prize homes in the popular fundraiser.

According to the Princess Margaret lottery website the home is fully furnished and decorated and comes with an additional $25000 in cash.

“Beyond the beauty of its natural surroundings your two-bedroom home features luxury finishes inside and out. With a fireplace for the cool nights a patio for the warm evenings and year-round activities at your doorstep lakeside living here is a four-season pleasure” the website reads.
It also includes a couples golf membership at Pinestone. Silver Beach is on Wigamog Road near Haliburton Village.

Developer Gerry Kowalski said that under the lottery’s regulations he couldn’t yet speak about one of his homes being offered at a prize.

However Dysart et al Reeve Murray Fearrey said that Silver Beach’s inclusion in the lottery was “exciting and valuable.”

“The developer from day one has been committed to top quality efficient structures demonstrating sustainable condo fees on a waterfront setting. We have a first-class community in our midst. This is great news for the developer the county and is what happens when a developer is hands on with specific goals and values.”

Other prizes include a $3.7 million Kleinburg showhome and Muskoka cottage a Markham show home a beach loft in Toronto and more.

Money raised supports Canada’s largest cancer research program “at one of the top five cancer research centres in the world.”
