The 2017 run is over for the Red Hawks senior girls’ soccer team.
After winning a week before the Hawks were shutout by Nicholson 3-0 in the A Central Ontario Secondary School Athletics championships last week.
Coach Amy Klose was proud of her players for their efforts despite the loss on Wednesday May 24.
“They played very well defensively but couldn’t capitalize on offensive chances” she wrote in an email. “For many players yesterday marked the end of their HHSS soccer and athletic endeavours. They finished with character commitment and grit right to the end of the match.”
Congratulations to the junior girls’ soccer team on their solid performance at the Kawartha championships. The girls played hard and demonstrated good positioning and ball control but were unable to control the shooting power of the St. Mary’s Thunder. The girls showed a lot of sportsmanship and grit throughout the entire season.
