Haliburton Craft Brewers Fest right around the corner

By Vanessa Balintec

The second annual Haliburton Craft Brewers Fest is fast approaching bringing along a day full of family activities traditional craft brewed beers and music for everyone to enjoy.

“The focus for us always is that we are a service club” said Gail Stelter volunteer for the Brewers Fest committee. “The beer fest is definitely a fundraiser for the Haliburton District Lions Club but it also is a wonderful community event. All the money that we raise at the Haliburton Craft Brewers Fest goes back into the community.”

The fest highlights the art of small and independent craft brewers in the midst of a variety of foods and live music played by local musicians. It will be a family and pet friendly event with eight craft brewers two craft coolers and six food vendors.

This year games for both adults and families are available for guests to enjoy. According to Stelter adult games will be ongoing through the day while a play area for children includes face-painting and balloon twisting a fish pond a parachute bubbles and boat races.

“Also near the games area are ice cream free popcorn and a couple of young entrepreneurs who will be selling candy floss as well” said Stelter. “We’re making it a beer fest but a little bit of a fair.”
