Driver produces false ID found with cocaine


A Highlands East resident is facing several charges after being stopped by OPP in the City of Kawartha Lakes.


Police say that on Dec. 28 officers conducted a vehicle stop during which time the driver showed a false ID and was arrested for “failing to identify” and obstructing a peace officer. A small amount of cocaine

was found in the vehicle which was towed.


The 29-year-old man was also charged with driving while under suspension and possession of a Schedule 1 substance. He will appear in court in Lindsay on Feb. 13.
