Driver charged in Highland St. collision

A Dysart man was charged with operation of his vehicle while impaired following a collision in Haliburton village on Thursday Sept. 12.

Haliburton Highlands OPP were called to the two-vehicle collision just after 5 p.m. and found a pickup truck and a passenger van had collided on County Road 21/Highland Street. The vehicles were travelling in opposite directions at the time of the incident police say.

One of the two occupants in the van sustained minor injuries. The driver of the pickup truck a 32-year-old Dysart man was arrested and charged with having blood alcohol over 80 and operating the vehicle while impaired.
