Highlands youth curlers represnted the area well at the Peterborough Cashspiel at the Peterborough Curling Club on Feb. 23 in Peterborough. County curlers showcase skills in Peterborough

On Saturday Feb. 23 at the Peterborough Cashpiel at the Peterborough Curling Club Haliburton County teams dominated during their two eight-end games both in numbers and results.
In the under-15 category we entered four teams out of the 10 team field and placed first and second.
The U15 team of skip Owen Nicholls vice Hendrik Haase second Hannah Sharp and lead Samuel Mcmahon finished first while placing second was the U15 team of skip Nathaniel Boore vice Jocelyn Chumbley second Cole Boisvert and lead Kara Chumbley.
In the under-18 category our two teams placed second and third out of the eight team field.
The U18 team of skip Evan Roitz vice Liam Little second Lena Haase and lead Savannah Byers finished second and placing just behind for third was the U18 team of skip Jacob Dobson vice Jonah Aldom second Corin Gervais and lead Micah Aldom.
The two other U15 entries from Haliburton County included Levi Aldom Izzy Hill Jonah Aldom and  Benjamin McMahon on one rink and the other included Abi Lewis Taylor Consack Rachael Aldom and Logan Vestage.
Congratulations to all of our youth curlers. It looks like a promising future.
