By Vivian Collings
Tyler Charity took third place in the finals at the Ontario Watercross Racing Association race at the Pinestone Resort and Golf Club on Sunday, June 26. Held over two days, the race featured dozens of racers where Charity, a Haliburton Highlands Secondary School alumnus moved another step closer to being pro.
His third place finish means that if he places in the top three next time, he will move up to the the pro-class.
“I’m very happy with where I’m sitting points-wise. I’m still third for the championship,” Charity said.
He has been out practising on his own pond to prepare.
“I just have to keep focused and try and have good heat races to get me into the final and hopefully pull that number one spot again.”
The next race weekend is being held in Tweed on August 27 and 28. There are no more races scheduled in Haliburton.
