After performing at Camp Timberlane over the last couple of years Toronto-based band Dwayne Gretzky and their management team got an idea: host a weekend-long music festival to cap off the summer.
This year for the first time they will host Camp Dwayne “a three-day cabin camping music festival” running from Friday Aug. 31 to Sunday Sept. 2.
Nick Rose of Dwayne Gretzky said the event includes a packed lineup for attendees.
“The weekend will feature two headlining shows from Dwayne Gretzky plus musical performances from the band’s friends and affiliate acts like Brave Shores Teen Ravine The O’Pears and more” he said via email. “We have programming scheduled all weekend long including comedy yoga arts and crafts and more all set at this beautiful summer camp.”
The group Dwayne Gretzky has an eclectic repertoire from “Queen to Bowie to Michael Jackson to Fleetwood Mac to the Supremes and beyond” Rose said.
The band has been together for about seven years and plays songs spanning more than 50 years.
“Our membership has evolved slightly over the years – we’re now 10 members strong oftentimes more. It’s a big old party.”
Besides the structured programming hosting the event at a summer camp means the traditional camp activities: canoeing kayaking water inflatables and of course roasting marshmallows.
Full details about what is planned can be found on the website campdwayne.com . All-inclusive weekend passes are $349. Saturday day passes are $129. (Go to the website and click on “tickets” to find out more.)
Rose said Camp Dwayne is a relaxing end to summer of 2018.
“Attendees can expect to have … the best end of summer weekend hang surrounded by nature great music and friends both old and new.”
