Human remains identified as David Palmer

Police say they have found human remains near Haliburton following a search for Bowmanville man David Palmer.

On May 10 OPP confirmed the remains were that of Palmer's following a post mortem examination done on May 9.

The search for Palmer has now concluded according to a news release issued by the OPP. Investigators believe his disappearance was the result of foul play.

Between May 3 and 6 the OPP conducted a search of an area north of the village of Haliburton in relation to the missing 47-year-old man. On May 6 they discovered human remains.

Palmer was last seen Friday Oct. 2 2015 and on October 14 2015 Palmer’s brown 2002 Honda Accord bearingOntario Licence plate BWCZ 783 was recovered by police near Spruce Lake Trail north of Haliburton village.

The search was conducted by members of the OPP Emergency Response Team Under Water Search & Recovery Unit and the Central Region Forensic Identification Section under the direction Detective Inspector Martin Graham of OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
