The Canadian Tire/Bantam Girls Jets brought home gold this past weekend.
The girls are to be commended on their great display of teamwork and how working together can result in success. Although the goals were needed to win not every victory shows up on the scoreboard. Every player on the team contributed to bringing home the hardware. Throughout the weekend the girls displayed a vast array of talents from speed puck handling stick to stick passing strong offensive and defensive play beautiful goals hat tricks and amazing goaltending. Unfortunately a player was injured and unable to play games the last day of the tournament. The team faced this challenge with grace and adjusted their play accordingly while their teammate cheered and supported them from the sidelines. While all of their hockey skills assisted in their win something of greater importance was evident in each and every player and how they have come together as a strong and unified team. Determination focus strength perseverance commitment resiliency positive attitudes and dedication are a few words that came to mind while watching the girls play vigorously during every game. All working together for the good of the team. Bella Smolen was once again stellar between the pipes for the team. The coaches bench staff parents and fans are so proud of your achievements this season both on and off the ice. You have represented your sponsors communities and girls hockey with great pride and work ethic.
Congratulations and all the best as you prepare for provincials April 6 to 8.
