It was ideal weather for more than 30 registered anglers at the derby HHOA Past President’s Kid’s Fish Derby on Wednesday, Aug. 16 at the Haliburton town docks. After more than 15 years, the event formerly known as HHOA Fishing Derby was on a four-year hiatus after resuming this year. This event, which awarded the derby winner with a trophy to take home and to have their name added to a larger trophy, was possible because of HHOA volunteering members. Every participant received a prize thanks to community partners Maple Hills Hunt Club and Outdoors Plus./DARREN LUM Staff The O’Pears band members Jill Harris, closest, and Meg Contini perform for an audience on Sunday, Aug. 20 at the Historic Logging Museum.
