Fast food chain A&W has set itssights on Haliburton with a representative telling the Echo that a restaurant might be constructed in the area sometime in thenext year.

Franchise sales manager for A&WFood Services Sam Wootton said plans for the restaurant areunderway as location details are being finalized.

Wootton was in town this week to lookfor a franchisee for the restaurant.

The manager believes Haliburton is anideal setting and that the Highlands makes for a perfect backdrop forthe restaurant as it has a high volume of traffic during the summermonths.

The Haliburton Highlands has been onthe radar for A&W for a while due to the attraction anddemographics of the area said Wootton.
